MAINE MADE WINE WRAPS -- A Gift that Gives

Our Product:

Maine Made Wine Wraps are fabric gift bags for wine - locally made, eye-catching, re-usable, and for a good cause!

Wraps come in a variety of fabrics including holiday themes, lobsters, African prints, and Dupioni silk.

We donate 100% of proceeds from our wine wrap sales.

People who buy the wraps see the info tag and know their purchase is helping in the fight against cancer.

Our Motivation:

In our first year we gave more than $5400 to the Susan G. Komen Maine Affiliate Race for the Cure in memory of Cristy Sullivan Warstler.

Cristy, a child psychologist at the Eastern Maine Medical Center, was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 31.

Two of Cristy's friends came up with the wine wrap idea as a cheerful way to remember her by helping one of her favorite charities.

This year we are giving all the proceeds from the sale of the wraps to the Cancer Support Center of Maine, a small but dedicated nonprofit that directly helps cancer patients and their families. So far we have donated more than $4500 to the Center.

Our Team:

Since the project started in October 2010, more than a dozen volunteers in Bangor and surrounding towns have helped create the wine wraps.

Other friends are providing cloth and ribbons. In addition, a local Bangor print shop regularly donates paper for the labels, and a local ad agency offers advice. Sewing businesses in Beals, Camden, Jonesport, Hancock, Milford, and Sedgwick have given us fabric, but WE ALWAYS NEED MORE FABRIC and RIBBON!

Merchants in wine and gift stores use valuable shelf space to display and sell the wraps.

Wraps are sold by wine and gift stores in many Maine cities and towns (list below). *
